The Presidential Administration has abolished the position and department of the Presidential Advisor on Personnel Affairs, according to presidential spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
The move is part of an ongoing restructuring effort to streamline the administration.
Under a presidential decree, Pulat Bobojonov has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Advisor on Personnel Affairs to accommodate his transfer to another role. Bobojonov, who previously served as the Minister of Internal Affairs, had held the deputy advisor post since March 2025.
The responsibilities of the shuttered department have been distributed among other offices within the Presidential Administration. Specifically, managing state awards and heraldry, alongside coordinating closely with local government authorities, will now fall under the Compliance Service. Meanwhile, the department of the Presidential Advisor on Representative Bodies, NGOs, and Youth Affairs will take over initiatives aimed at strengthening the mahalla (neighborhood) institutional system.
The post of personnel advisor was most recently held by Gafurjon Mirzaev, who served from August 2023 until his recent departure. For most of his tenure, up until July 2025, Mirzaev simultaneously headed the State Service Development Agency. Mirzaev has now been appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Mahalla Association, succeeding Kakhramon Kuranbaev.
