Uzbekistan and Bahrain have discussed the possibility of launching direct flights between Tashkent and Manama. The matter was raised during a meeting in the United Arab Emirates between Abdulaziz Akkulov, chairman of the Tourism Committee, and Fatima Al Sairafi, Bahrain's Minister Of Tourism, the Tourism Committee reported.

The two sides also discussed boosting mutual tourist flows and encouraging direct contacts between tourism industry representatives from both countries.

They agreed to regularly exchange marketing research findings, tourism statistics, and information on key market trends.

The parties also plan to continue organizing reciprocal familiarization and press tours for tourism industry representatives and media.

Bahrain has been invited to attend the Tashkent International Tourism Fair, "Tourism on the Silk Road," set to run November 25-27.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the flow of tourists from Bahrain is steadily rising. In 2023, 192 Bahraini nationals visited for tourism purposes; in 2024, that number climbed to 291; and in 2025, to 551 — nearly a threefold increase over two years. Meanwhile, only nine Uzbekistani tourists visited Bahrain in 2025.

Since June 2025, the country has implemented a 30-day visa-free for citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman.
