A driver in Qarshi, Qashqadaryo province, has been sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention after speeding through a residential neighborhood in a Damas van and ignoring orders to stop.
According to the court ruling, the driver committed violations under Part 1 of Article 194, Part 5 of Article 125, Part 2 of Article 128-5, and Part 2 of Article 128-10 of the Administrative Liability Code.
In court, the driver said he had taken the Damas without his brother's permission, was driving at high speed through the neighborhood, and failed to notice the signals to stop.
"I apologize to the public. I've realized that what I did was wrong. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My advice is to get a driver's license before getting behind the wheel. I made a foolish mistake once, and I'm sorry. It won't happen again," he said.
The court handed down a final sentence of 15 days of administrative detention for Haydarov, with the term set to begin at 6 p.m. on September 14, 2026.
The incident took place among high-rise apartment buildings in the Cholqovar neighborhood of Qarshi, as previously reported. At the time, the Damas driver was reported to have been moving at high speed and ignored stop signals from both a prevention inspector and residents.
His actions were said to have endangered the lives of minors in the area. The vehicle has been impounded at a temporary holding lot.
