The Power of Unity 2026 joint military exercises have begun at the Gizilgaya training center in Azerbaijan's Karabakh economic region, with troops from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye taking part.
The exercises involve service members from the defense ministries of all three countries, along with combat vehicles, aircraft, naval assets and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The drills aim to boost readiness for joint operations, strengthen interoperability among military units, standardize training procedures and enhance combat capability.
The three-phase exercises span multiple sites: the Gizilgaya training center in Azerbaijan's Karabakh economic region, the Garabaglar training center in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the Boyuk Zira training ground in Azerbaijan's sector of the Caspian Sea.
The exercises follow earlier reports that Uzbek servicemen took first place at an international combat readiness competition held in South Korea. Uzbekistan's team topped the standings with 316 points, followed by Cambodia in second with 212 points and host nation South Korea in third with 192 points.
