Uzbekistan will launch a Pension mobile app, Pension Fund director Murodbek Otajonov said at a news conference on Sept. 25.
"We are developing a new Pension mobile app and will unveil it in October," Otajonov said. "The project is the fund's main IT initiative. Citizens do not know how much social tax their employers have paid on their behalf, and they cannot tell in advance how much pension they will receive. Our app will answer those questions. It will also open up opportunities to invest the money accumulated in the funded portion of the pension."
As reported earlier, a draft resolution proposing changes to the current pension system was published for public discussion. The draft also provides for the creation of the app. Citizens would be able to use it to access pension-related government services online, check their employment records and income, calculate their future pension and manage their pension savings. The launch is planned for April 2027.
The draft proposes raising the retirement age by three months each year starting in 2028. By 2039, it would reach 63 for men and 58 for women. It also envisages raising the minimum length of service required to qualify for a pension to 15 years in 2034.
