President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has delivered an address to participants in the 7th Congress of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions, being held in Samarkand.
"Our common goal is to direct artificial intelligence and modern technologies, a demand of our time, toward human interests and the rule of law, and to turn them into a tool that reliably protects the rights and freedoms of every individual," said the address, which was read out at the opening ceremony.
Mirziyoyev said Uzbekistan, during its chairmanship of the association, is working to take legal dialogue in Asia to a new level, broaden practical cooperation, develop new initiatives and ideas, and implement effective mechanisms that benefit all member states.
He thanked all partners, representatives of regional organizations and member-state delegations who contributed to organizing the prestigious international forum.
The congress is taking place in Samarkand on October 1-2. This year's theme is "Constitutional Justice in the Age of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence." Heads of constitutional and supreme courts from more than 20 countries, representatives of international organizations and leading legal scholars are attending.
