Tashkent's each district has been assigned 100 hectares of land in New Tashkent, with the aim of drawing new projects, the president’s press service said.
District mayors are to work with local businesses to bring projects to the sites. The country’s other 13 provinces will receive the same opportunity, and investments made on the sites will count toward the figures of the relevant province or capital district.
The first auction for land plots on the assigned sites will be open only to entrepreneurs from that province or district.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that New Tashkent must become a platform of new opportunities for businesspeople across the country.
The first 50 lots have been designated for foreign investors. Ambassadors will receive offer packages covering locations, project potential, economic calculations and new incentives.
Mirziyoyev said the announced opportunities must not remain on paper, the press service said. They must reach investors as ready-made proposals specifying the land plot, economic calculations and implementation deadlines.
Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions abroad have been instructed to introduce foreign investors more widely to opportunities in New Tashkent. Ministers have been tasked with presenting the project at every meeting with foreign partners and major companies and inviting them to join projects.
