Two people, including a 2-year-old child, were killed when a scooter collided with a car on Oct 9 in the Pakhtachi district of Samarkand province.
A man from Mirkan neighborhood was riding the scooter when it hit a Gobalt car. His wife and grandchild were also on board.
The man’s wife, identified only as S.A., 57, and the grandchild, identified as Kh.H., died in the crash. The man was injured and taken to hospital, where his condition is reportedly serious.
The Samarkand Province Road Traffic Safety Department has not yet given official information about the accident. The deaths were also announced in the Mirkan neighborhood’s online group.
It was reported earlier that 563 accidents involving mopeds and scooters were recorded in the first nine months of 2026. They killed 89 people and injured 488.
