Three young men have been identified over the smashing of a facial recognition surveillance camera in the entrance hallway of a multi-story building in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent city, the Tashkent Police Department's press service said.
The incident took place around midnight, it said. Two of the men were born in 2004 and 2005, and the third is a minor. An inquiry by a prevention inspector found that two of them had been drinking alcohol.
An administrative report was drawn up under Article 183 (Petty hooliganism) and Article 194 (Failure to comply with the lawful demands of a police officer) of the Administrative Liability Code and sent to court. The Chilanzar district court for criminal cases sentenced two of the men to three days of administrative arrest each.
A submission has been filed with the Commission on Minors’ Affairs under the Tashkent city administration to consider placing the minor under special supervision.
The man who said he broke the camera expressed remorse. “I deeply regret what I did. It turns out things like this never go unpunished,” he said. “Even if you break a camera, they find you anyway. I apologize to everyone.”
Earlier, authorities reported that a man suspected of distributing a synthetic narcotic had been detained in Tashkent.
