Construction has begun on two more sections of a dedicated bus lane modeled on bus rapid transit (BRT) in Tashkent, on Amir Temur Avenue and Yangi Sergeli Street.

Work is being carried out in the center of the carriageway, and traffic continues in both directions on the remaining lanes. The Traffic Management Center urged drivers to expect possible delays and, where possible, to choose other routes.

The first phase covers 1.4 km of Amir Temur Avenue, from its intersection with Ahmad Donish Street to Shahristan Street. It also covers 1.4 km of Yangi Sergeli Street, from the junction with Choshtepa Street to the SOUEAST service center.

Construction of a BRT line on Shahrisabz Street is continuing. When all sections are connected, a single line will run along the route Yangi Sergeli – Shota Rustaveli – Shahrisabz – Amir Temur.

The capital’s city administration said earlier that the BRT system is also planned for Mukimi, Karatash and Kukcha Darvoza streets, Parkent Street and Mirzo Ulugbek Avenue.
