The court schedule for the criminal trial of Bakhodirjon Sidikov, former chairman of the Uzbekneftegaz's BOD, lists 25 defendants, up from the nine reported by the Supreme Court’s press service in July.
The list appears in the case card for a hearing of the Yashnabad district criminal court in Tashkent set for Oct. 30, with Judge Jasurbek Ubaydullaev presiding. It is not stated why the card lists more defendants than first announced, or whether the line-up has changed. The court has not yet assessed the prosecutor’s arguments or the defendants’ testimony.
Sidikov is charged under articles covering Theft by misappropriation or embezzlement, Abuse of power or official authority, Official forgery and Legalization of criminal proceeds.
Also listed is Mubin Mirzaev, a former first deputy chairman of the Tax Committee, who according to the court system faces charges under clause “a” of Part 3 of Article 167 and clause “a” of Part 2 of Article 209. The published data do not say which counts involve him.
Other defendants include Bakhtiyar Anarkulov, a former deputy chairman of the Uzbekneftegaz BOD, and Dilmurod Burkhanov, its former chief of procurement.
Corporate registries show people with the same names as several defendants chiefing or founding gas and oil sector companies, some of which won Uzbekneftegaz tenders. Open court materials do not indicate that these companies’ activities are part of the charges, and winning a tender does not in itself indicate violations.
On July 27, the Shaykhantakhur district criminal court sentenced Mirzaev to 8 years and 2 months in prison in a separate case, in which eight others received 4 to 9 years.
Sidikov was dismissed in December 2025. His trial began on July 24 and was moved behind closed doors on Aug. 14 at the prosecutor’s request, which cited classified materials.
