A shocking video circulating on social media showing a customer cutting his own arms inside the "Imarat Development" sales office has exposed a massive real estate fraud scheme, leading to the arrest of the company's owner, Marat Khamdamov.
The graphic incident (18+)was a desperate act of protest by a homebuyer seeking justice. Investigations have revealed that the confrontation and widespread customer outrage stem from a systemic deception orchestrated by the developer:
- Location Deception: Buyers were explicitly promised premium apartments located within the capital city of Tashkent. However, they later discovered the high-rise buildings were actually being constructed far outside city limits, in the Kuyichirchik district of the Tashkent region.
- Refusal of Refunds: After realizing they had been misled, disgruntled customers demanded to cancel their contracts and requested their money back. The company flatly refused to return the funds, pushing victims to financial ruin.
Official Criminal Investigation Launched
Following the public outcry, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Tashkent City Police Department launched a formal criminal case against the management of "Imarat Development."
The company's founder, M.Kh. (Marat Khamdamov), along with co-executive J.A., have been officially detained under two articles of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan: Article 168 (Fraud) and Article 192¹¹ (Abuse of Power or Authority).
The case has drawn high-level political and legal scrutiny, with both the Chief of the Tashkent City Police and the General Prosecutor’s Office taking personal oversight of the ongoing investigation.
