A court in Olmazor district has sentenced eight groomsmen to administrative detention for dancing on a roadway and obstructing traffic.

The Olmazor district court for criminal cases found the eight, aged 19 to 30, guilty of petty hooliganism in a ruling dated Nov. 3, 2026. One was sentenced to five days of administrative detention and the rest to seven days each.

The court document says the group danced on the carriageway of Gulsaroy Street on Oct. 31, blocking vehicles.

“We blocked the road and had a bit of fun. We didn’t think it would lead to this. We regret what we did, and it won’t happen again,” one of the offenders told the court.

Another said that at around 4 p.m. that day, as they were leaving the bride’s home, they were “carried away by joy and emotion” and blocked the road. He said he had not known the consequences would go this far, and expressed regret.
