A 59-year-old schoolteacher in the Muzrabot district of Surkhandarya province was sentenced to five days of administrative arrest for sexually harassing a female colleague.
The incident took place at about 3 p.m. on Oct. 3, 2026, at a general secondary school. The teacher, identified by the initials U.K., told the woman in front of other teachers: “Your dress is so beautiful, I’d like to hug and kiss you.”
The woman told the court she was deeply embarrassed. She said U.K. had made sexually suggestive remarks to her before, but she had not complained.
“After this incident, colleagues who were standing there advised me to go to the relevant authorities,” she said. “I cried and my health got worse.”
The man admitted guilt in court and said he had made the remarks as a joke.
The court found him guilty under Article 41-1, Part 1 (Ssexual harassment) of the Code of Administrative Liability.
Earlier, a doctor in the Yangiarik district of Khorezm province was jailed for three days for sending sexually suggestive text messages to a nurse he worked with. A schoolteacher in the Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya province also received five days of administrative arrest for harassing a female colleague on Telegram.
