A court has jailed a 36-year-old Russian citizen for seven days after he verbally abused flight attendants and disrupted a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tashkent.
The incident occurred on flight HY-552 on Nov. 5, 2026, the document said.
The passenger, identified only as V.K., repeatedly asked a flight attendant for alcohol. She refused to serve him more because he was intoxicated. He then insulted her with obscene language and directed offensive remarks at other passengers, the document said.
When a second flight attendant tried to calm him, he insulted her too. He kept shouting despite warnings from crew members, it said.
After the plane landed at Tashkent International Airport, police officers boarded and ordered him to calm down, leave the aircraft and go to the administrative building to give an explanation. He refused, continued swearing and threw his carry-on bag down the aircraft stairs and kicked it, according to the document.
V.K. pleaded guilty in court, expressed remorse and said it would not happen again, the document said.
The Sergeli District Court for criminal cases found him guilty of petty hooliganism and of failing to comply with lawful demands of a police officer. It imposed a final sentence of seven days’ administrative detention.
