On December 29, Tashkent hosted a special conference of the Uzbekistan’s Journalists Union, during which Sadulla Khakimov, the Honored Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan, was elected as the new chairman.
In 2010, Khakimov was appointed as the chief editor of Literature and Art of Uzbekistan newspaper. He is also a poet and a prose writer.
New tasks have been set out to Khakimov, among which - transformation of the mass media into a truly people's tribune, introduction of new methods and approaches to the work of journalists, boosting regional mass media, facilitate of the exchange of views and experience with foreign mass media.
