Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan enters the Guinness World Records 2017 Edition as the oldest Olympic gymnast (female) who at the age of 41 years 56 days competed at the 2016 Olympic Games, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 14 August 2016.

Throughout Oksana's gymnastics career she has competed at a record-breaking seven consecutive Olympic Games. She has represented the Unified Olympics team (1992), Germany (2008 and 2012), and Uzbekistan (1996-2004 and 2016).

“It's a huge event in my life, I am very proud and thrilled that I am in the Guinness Records Edition. Well I do not yet think about the Tokyo 2020, for the time being all my thoughts are about the World Championship 2017 in Montreal. I find it difficult to anticipate, so I will advance in small steps, and see what happens,” - she said in an interview.

"I want to thank all my fans in Uzbekistan and around the world for their support and faith in me, they inspire me for new exploits and to go even further ", - she added.
