The international Navruz marathon will be held March 22 in Tashkent. Four distances - 42 km, 21 km, 3 km and 1.5 km will be offered. Only those who are 18 years of age or older will be able to participate in the first two distances, with no age limit set for the last two distances.
The tracks are certified by the AIMS Association of International Marathons and Races.
Each participant will receive an individual number with an electronic chip to record the finish time.
The total prize money is 163 million soums, or US$ 17,000, with online registration available in the near future.
Last year, the Navruz half marathon was held in Tashkent: more than 1,600 participants from 28 countries ran two distances - 21,097 km (half marathon) and a satellite race of 5 km.
