Mirdjalol Kasymov has returned as head coach of the Tashkent based FC Bunyodkor, and has brought with him Alexander Volkov and Shukhrat Maksudov to be part of the coaching staff, the club’s press service announced in a statement.
Following the team’s poor performance both at the Asian Champions League and the national league, Sergey Luschan left the post "at his own request". Luschan’s record includes 122 matches of which 63 wins, 27 draws, 32 losses. Most likely, he will continue to work at Bunyodkor academy, the statement said.
Mirdjalol Kasymov worked in the club in 2007-2008 and 2010-2014. He won the League title three times and once the Uzbekistan Cup, twice reached the semi-finals of the Asia Champions League.
Kasymov’s task at Bunyodkor will be to revive the team’s glory, qualify for the next year’s Asian Champions League group stage, the statement added.
