The Uzbek Embassy and the US Chamber of Commerce organized a roundtable discussion on Uzbekistan’s trade, economic and investment potential Sunday.

The event was attended by CEOs of Marriott International, Inc., Citi, Global Data Risk, British Petroleum, Sierra Nevada Corporation, RTX, International Investment Center and other leading companies.

The parties discussed the ways to further advance trade, economic and business ties between Uzbek and US companies, and touched upon the organization of a business mission of the US Chamber of Commerce delegation to Uzbekistan.

Senior Vice President for the Middle East, Central Asia and Turkey of the US Chamber of Commerce, Khush Choksy announced that a delegation consisting of CEOs of about 20 American companies is planned to visit Uzbekistan in the near future to hold negotiations on the implementation of joint projects.

They focused on the successful completion of bilateral negotiations with the US on Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO. "This important event will significantly strengthen Uzbekistan's international economic ties and open up new horizons for foreign investors. It will also create additional opportunities for expanding business partnerships," said Khush Choksy.

The conference discussed key areas such as mining, information technology, agriculture, construction and infrastructure projects, as well as machinery engineering. The event featured B2B meetings which discussed the possibilities of implementing specific projects.

At the end of the event, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of a delegation of the US Chamber of Commerce to Uzbekistan in the first half of 2025.
