The number of foreign-invested companies in Uzbekistan has reached 22,029, with Chinese-capital firms accounting for the largest share, the National Statistics Committee said in a report.
As of Oct 1, 2026, 4,851 of these companies were joint ventures and 17,178 were wholly foreign-owned, the committee said.
China ranks first with 6,649 companies, ahead of Russia with 3,690 and Turkey with 2,410. Companies with Chinese capital make up about 30.2 percent of the total, based on the committee’s figures.
Kazakhstan follows with 1,378 companies, then South Korea with 744, Afghanistan with 740, Azerbaijan with 519, Tajikistan with 490, the United Arab Emirates with 472 and India with 455.
The ranking reflects the number of operating companies, not the volume of investment.
The total is up by 4,841, or 28.2 percent, from a year earlier. Over the past five years, the figure has grown 1.5-fold.
