The governor of Surkhandarya province Ulugbek Kasimov hosted a delegation led by the CEO of India-based Glokal Eurasia, Iqbal Mohammad Thursday.
The parties discussed the progress of the $650 million copper mining and processing unit project in Uzun district. The future facility will have a capacity to mine and process 10 thousand tons of copper per year and create 350 new jobs.
The first and second phases of the project have been completed to date, with building work currently underway.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop the feasibility studies for the projects, prepare provisional agreements for their implementation, begin the organizational phases, and expedite the implementation of the project.
