The first IT park in Uzbekistan will open on July 24, the ITs Development Ministry, which the actual founder of the park said. It will be located in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, at the Al-Khwarizmi school near Tashkent Inha University.
IT-park will hold incubator and accelerator programs for in the field of financial, medical and agricultural technologies, as well as e-government, e-commerce, the Internet of things and other start-ups.
The IT-park has so far partnered with Software Technology Parks of India (New Delhi), Tech Nation (London), IT start-ups tech park Astana Hub (Nur-Sultan), Exadel (Minsk), IT-parks of Moscow and Kazan, Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center, Inha University in Tashkent, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Business School Humo Campus, GroundZero co-working network and C-SPACE.
Residents of the IT-park, according to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated June 30, 2017, are waived until January 1, 2028 from paying:
- all types of taxes and fees to state trust funds, as well as a single social payment;
- customs duties (except for customs fees) for imported equipment and components, as well as software not produced in Uzbekistan.
They will also be entitled to pay wages to foreign specialists in foreign currency within the limits of export proceeds.
In addition, income received in the form of wages to employees under employment contracts with residents of the technopark received before January 1, 2028 is subject to personal income tax at a fixed rate of 7.5% and is not included in the total annual income of individuals.
