On May 12-13 in Shymkent city of South Kazakhstan province was held a maiden goods exhibition of Tashkent enterprises, a source in Tashkent mayor’s office said.
Over 150 Tashkent enterprises presented more than 1000 items of various industries, including machine-building and electrical, metallurgical and chemical, light and food, furniture and building materials, as well as a wide range of other consumer goods.
The exhibition was visited by over 5000 entrepreneurs of the province with $ 18 million in export contracts and protocols of intentions having been signed following the exhibition.
Shymkent Akimat (mayor’s office) and Tashkent khokimiyat signed a cooperation memorandum. The document, inter alia, provides for setting up of a Tashkent trade house in Shymkent.
Tashkent mayor’s office plans to hold such exhibitions in Almaty (Kazakhstan), Osh (Kyrgyzstan) and Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).
