An event dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Tashkent and Central Asian Eparchy, the 5th anniversary of the Central Asian Metropolitan District and the 25th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence was held in Tashkent on November 14, Turkistan Press said.
Speaking at the event, metropolitan of the Tashkent and Uzbekistan Vikentiy emphasized the atmosphere of mutual respect and tolerance, which makes up the foundation of the country's life .
"We are grateful to the people of Uzbekistan, to the country's government for having such a great opportunity to live in this holy land, work and serve allegiance. Allegiance in our church lies in sowing the seeds of God's truth, morality, spirituality, peace, prosperity and unity of all peoples in this holy land. And may God preserve the peace forever,"- he said.
Festive atmosphere was upheld with a concert of popular singers, featuring the winner of the famous Russian singing TV project, Voice, monk Photiy.
