The branch of the Indian Amity University will open in the 2019-2020 academic year in Tashkent. The relevant decision was signed by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 7, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education said.

The university will offer IT-related programs, including software development and information systems and computer network management.

Graduates will be awarded the Amity University diploma.

Amity is one of the leading private educational groups of India. with over 150,000 students around the world. Headquartered in Indian Noida, the group has campuses in 11 cities in India and branches in New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, China, South Africa and others.

The agreement on the opening of the Amity University branch in Tashkent was signed during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to India last autumn.

The Amity University branch in Tashkent will be located in the former Vocational College of Communications on Labzak street in Shaykhantakhur district.
