Starting from 2017 Uzbekistan's annual Hajj quota increased from 5200 to 7200, a statement of the Committee for Religious Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
This decision was taken due to the rise in recent years of the number of those wishing to make the pilgrimage, the statement added.
Also on the proposal of the Muslims Board of Uzbekistan and Nuroniy and Mahalla Funds, this year those who have already performed Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage will perform pilgrimage at a later date.
