Photovoltaic, wind, and hydropower plants now stand for 21.5% of total power generation. Year-to-date, the volume of power produced by PV and wind power plants has surpassed 7 billion kWh (PV plants - 4.36 billion kWh, wind farms - 2.64 billion kWh), the Ministry of Energy said.

The country currently operates 12 photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 4,582 MW, and 4 wind power plants.

For comparison:

• in 2022, the first power plants in Navoi and Samarkand provinces produced 434 million kWh;

• in 2023 – 576.9 million kWh;

• in 2024 – 4.86 billion kWh.

On average, solar and wind power plants produce 29.1 million kWh per day.

As a result, Uzbekistan saved 2.1 BCM of natural gas and prevented more than 2.94 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Including, all renewable sources have generated 11.9 billion kWh since the start of the year – equivalent to 21.5% of Uzbekistan’s total power production.

According to the Ministry of Energy, green generation has covered the consumption of 7.4 million households over eight months, or the annual consumption of 4.9 million households.
