Uzbekistan’s international trade turnover rose 6.3% in the first nine months of 2026 to $65.4 billion, the National Statistics Committee said in a report published on Oct. 28.
The increase of $3.9 billion came as imports outpaced exports. Exports fell 5.5% from a year earlier to $25.8 billion, while imports rose 15.7% to $39.6 billion. The trade deficit widened to $13.7 billion from $6.9 billion.
Excluding gold, goods exports grew 31.6% to $13.3 billion. Exports of non-monetary gold dropped to $2.8 billion from $9.8 billion a year earlier.
China remained the largest trade partner with turnover of $15.2 billion in January-September, followed by Russia at $10.5 billion, Kazakhstan at $4.3 billion, Turkey at $2.2 billion and Afghanistan at $1.6 billion.
Services exports rose 31.1% to $9.7 billion, including $5.3 billion from tourism and $2.9 billion from transport, the report said.
Machinery and transport equipment made up the largest share of imports at $12.9 billion. Imports of industrial goods totaled $5.8 billion, chemicals $4.8 billion and food products $4.2 billion.
The committee had earlier said Uzbekistan traded with more than 200 countries in January-July 2026. China, with $11.3 billion, and Russia, with $8.1 billion, were the largest partners in that period as well.
