ODAŞ CA has been honored with the “Gas Power Project of the Year” award at the Asian Power Awards, recognized as the most prestigious energy sector awards program in Asia.
As the only project awarded in this category and the only Turkish company to receive an award, ODAŞ CA achieved international recognition with its Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant in Uzbekistan, which was completed and commissioned in just six months — becoming the most efficient private-sector power plant in the region.
Each year, the Asian Power Awards celebrate Asia’s leading energy projects and companies, focusing on efficiency, innovation, and sustainability in both public and private sector investments. The “Gas Power Project of the Year” category stands out as one of the most distinguished awards, evaluating natural gas-fired power plants based on technical excellence, environmental impact, and strategic significance.
A Model for Regional Energy Transformation
The ODAŞ CA Power Plant has been recognized as a model project for regional energy transformation through its highly efficient relocation-based investment in Uzbekistan. With this major achievement, ODAŞ CA has not only delivered a successful technical project but also represented a strategic investment shaping the region’s energy transition on an international stage.
Built in the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan, the plant provides uninterrupted energy to approximately 500,000 households and stands out as one of the largest private-sector energy investments in the country. The ODAŞ CA Power Plant was realized through the relocation of a power plant from Turkey’s Southeastern Anatolia region to Uzbekistan — a rare model in the global energy industry. This innovative approach minimized investment costs while ensuring exceptional efficiency in resource utilization. The jury recognized this strategy as an exemplary model of sustainability and innovation.
High Efficiency and Sustainable Performance
With an efficiency rate of 49%, the ODAŞ CA Power Plant is among the highest-performing natural gas plants in the region. Equipped with the most advanced engine technology in the country and directly integrated into the national transmission grid, the facility contributes significantly to energy supply security.
