Uzbekistan's output of natural gas, oil, coal and gas condensate fell in January-August 2026 compared with the same period last year, the National Statistics Committee said.

Large industrial enterprises produced 24.2 BCM of natural gas during the period, down about 16.3% from 28.9 BCM in January-August 2025.

Oil production slipped about 2.2%, to 425,000 tonnes from 434,500 tonnes a year earlier.

Coal output fell about 10.2%, to 4.4 million tonnes from 4.9 million. Gas condensate production dropped about 14.7%, to 648,300 tonnes from 760,500 tonnes.

Output of some fuel products rose. Motor gasoline production increased to 811,300 tonnes from 775,700 tonnes, and diesel to 834,300 tonnes from 786,600 tonnes. Portland cement production also edged up, to 14.1 million tonnes from 13.8 million.

Overall, Uzbekistan's industrial output in January-August totaled 926.5 trillion soums, an 8% increase from the same period last year.

In February, it was reported that Uzbekistan planned to extract 40.2 BCM of natural gas in 2026. The Uzbekistan-2030 strategy calls for 1.5 BCM less gas to be produced this year than in 2025, when output was 41.7 BCM.
