Uzbekistan could join the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), announced the Bank’s governor Nikolay Podguzov during the conference of members-investors of the Association of Development Institutes of Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP).
According to him, negotiations are being conducted between EDB and Uzbekistan, with parties sharing common approaches on many matters. Therefore, currently Uzbekistan is the most realistic candidate to join the bank.
Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is an international financial organization that carries out investment activities aimed at developing the economy, trade-economic relations and integration processes in the countries of the Eurasian region. Founded in 2006, the bank has an authorized capital is 7 billion dollars and is headquartered in the city of Alma-Ota (Kazakhstan). There are also representative offices in St. Petersburg, Astana, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Yerevan, Minsk, and Moscow.
