President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Zou Jiayi, the presidential press service said.
At the beginning of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated Zou Jiayi on her assumption of office.
The parties in detail discussed the ways to expand the Uzbekistan's strategic partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
In recent years, the portfolio of ongoing and prospective joint projects with the bank has surpassed $7 billion. While last year alone, the bank financed $1 billion worth of projects.
The President Mirziyoyev advocated for expanding productive cooperation in private sector, women's and youth entrepreneurship, developing and public-private partnership projects, facilitating the implementation of poverty reduction programs, and developing alternative energy, energy efficiency, water supply, social services, and others.
He emphasized the importance of the AIIB's active participation in major regional infrastructure projects.
Zou Jiayi praised the scale of reforms in our country and declared her readiness to continue to fully support the reform program being carried out in New Uzbekistan.
