Uzbekistan’s revised Tax Code will take effect from the next year, said Aziz Umirzakov, the deputy chief of the State Tax Committee (STC).
“The new Tax Code will expectedly come into force from January 1. We make every effort to ensure that the new standards will take effect from next year. We now have some experience in implementing reforms, we know our mistakes. All this we have taken into accoung in the new code. In order not to delay the process of optimizing the tax system, we must implement it from the next year,” he said.
According to him, “soon” the new version of the code will be published for consultation.
“We will stick to the deadlines, I cannot say a specific date, so as not to mislead anyone. We will proceed from the fact that the code itself is ready, and it is being approved by the relevant departments. I think we will not delay until the fall, this summer we will put it on the table,” he added.
The tax improvement concept, adopted in June 2018, provided that the new code would come into force on January 1, 2019. However, later the deadline was postponed.
