US$ 40.7 million will be provided for the reconstruction of two sections of the M39 Tashkent-Termez highway with a total length of 21 km, the Dec. 31 Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers stipulated.
The project will be implemented with the US$ 35.1 million loan of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) provided for a period of 20 years. The remaining US$ 5.5 million is the contribution of Uzbekistan, taking into account tax reliefs.
The repayment of the principal and interest, as well as the coverage of commission fees and expenses for mediation will be made from the state budget.
Earlier, the Islamic Development Bank also participated in the reconstruction of 100 km (1330-1395 km, 1400-1410 km and 1426-1451 km) of the Tashkent-Termez highway. The project cost was estimated at US$ 167.2 million. The contractor was Azerbaijan's Akkord Industry Construction Investment Corporation.
