Russia proposed to use the yuan as a reserve currency in the CIS. According to Leonid Anfimov, "the dollar’s era is over and it will significantly lose its domination by 2025."
CIS countries can use the Chinese yuan instead of the dollar and the euro in mutual settlements, said Leonid Anfimov, first deputy chairman of the CIS Executive Committee.
"I think that the transition to the national currencies of the CIS countries or to the currencies of the CIS countries, which do not act “inamicably” towards the CIS countries, is fully justified. These are primarily other currencies that can be used as reserve currencies instead of the yuan and the dollar," Anfimov said.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian investors are more interested in the yuan.
