On 31 December an Agreement was signed in Tashkent between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on technical cooperation for the implementation of the project "Land use based on ecosystem approach and conservation of the ecosystems in the lower course of the Amu Darya river".
The Agreement provides for technical assistance by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan to implement the above project, the aim of which is to contribute to climate protection and sustainable development in Uzbekistan through assistance to adaptation to the impacts of climate change, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
According to Article 9 of the Agreement, the document comes into force on 31 December 2016.
