Starting from January 1, the fellows of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan will receive a monthly non-taxable fee (royalty), equivalent of 10 minimum wages (about 1.5 million soums). This is foreseen by the Decree of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of 29 December.
In accordance with the document the Sciences Academy fellows shall be approved by the President on the recommendation of the Bureau and acting fellows of the Academy on related specialties.
The relevant ministries and agencies shall within a month make proposals for a mechanism for the involvement of the full fellows of the Academy into the scientific-educational and production processes, strengthening their role in the integration of science, education and industry, as well as in the training of qualified personnel.
Proposals should also be prepared on what necessary conditions are required for efficient work of the fellows of the Academy in the scientific and educational institutions and industrial enterprises of the country.
Decree also provides for incentives to academicians in the form of free of charge health improvement in sanatory institutions of the Health Ministry, Trade unions Federation, as well as in Uzbekistan sanatories in Yalta and Kislovodsk.
