23 accords were signed at the online meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government held on November 6 aimed at the development of the transport system, energy, construction, education, culture, tourism, physical culture and sports, as well as youth policy, the press service of the Prime Minister said.
Programs have been approved for cooperation in the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, innovation, and improving the quality of life of war veterans - participants in local conflicts and their families.
The prime ministers of the Commonwealth countries also approved an action plan for the implementation of the first stage (for 2021-2025) of the CIS economic development strategy until 2030, a concept for the development of inteprovinces and cross-border cooperation and cooperation in the field of agricultural engineering, as well as action plans to ensure transport security and on cooperation of the CIS member states in the humanitarian sphere.
Accords have been signed that regulate the fields of digital development of society and cross-border transportation of radioactive materials, the statement says.
The Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, speaking at a meeting of the council, noted that with the start of the pandemic, the countries of the commonwealth have shown their readiness for effective mutual assistance and support in countering coronavirus infection.
He supported the opinion of his colleagues on the need to use the potential of the CIS for the development of health care and sanitary and epidemiological control, including in countering infectious diseases, creating effective antiviral drugs and vaccines, and establishing their mass production.
Abdulla Aripov noted that it was necessary to ensure unhindered crossing by carriers of our countries of state borders and wider implementation of "green corridors" "for the timely delivery of vital products - food, medicines, medical products."
"In this regard, there is an objective need to improve tariff policy, administrative procedures and regulations, mutual provision of waivers for transportation and transit of goods, comprehensive digitalization of transport infrastructure," he underscored.
Abdulla Aripov also called on accelerating the adoption of the interstate program of innovative cooperation of the CIS member states until 2030. Uzbekistan, he said, hopes for "the earliest possible start of the practical implementation of this document." According to the head of government, the program will allow all CIS countries to effectively use their technological and innovative potential.
The agreement on information interaction of the CIS countries in the field of digital development of society will allow developing coordinated approaches to the implementation of digitalization programs, strengthening the role of e-commerce and business operations, as well as solving topical issues of information interaction between the participating states, "the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan concluded.
The next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government is planned to be held on May 28, 2021 in Minsk, chaired by Belarus.
