Tajikistan switches checkpoints on the border with Uzbekistan to normal operation mode. The decision was taken by the anti-coronavirus headquarters and was due to the normalization of the epidemiological situation in Tajikistan.
From March 15, 2022, the border crossings between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will resume normal operation, with only certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19 to be required, without testing for coronavirus in Tajikistan.
Uzbeks and foreigners entering Tajikistan will need to present a 72-hour negative coronavirus result from the country.
The decision was due to "normalization the epidemiological situation in Tajikistan and was aimed at further strengthen economic and social ties with the countries of the region."
Certificates of vaccination against COVID-19 issued by health authorities and institutions of Uzbekistan, as well as other CIS countries, are officially recognized.
The headquarters also abolished the mandatory wearing of masks and allowed weddings and other national ceremonies to be held in the country in line with applicable law.
