A Tashkent-bound Uzbekistan Airways Airbus A320 aircraft heading from Minsk made an emergency landing at Moscow's Domodedovo airport after an anonymous bomb threat, the company said.
On Monday, April 11, the plane took off from Minsk National Airport at 15.39 (Tashkent time) as per the schedule.
“While in the Russian airspace an anonymous bomb threat was received to the email addresses of officials of Uzbekistan Airways, and to the aviation services of the Russian Federation and Belarus,” the company noted.
The chief pilot decided to land at Domodedovo Airport to check and inspect the aircraft.
“The aircraft, passengers, their luggage, cargo and mail they checked as per the prescribed procedure. The threat was not confirmed,” Uzbekistan Airways said.
According to the company, the plane will shortly take off and head to the destination. All 104 passengers are safe.
