The Uzbekistan combined team of military personnel were third in the Sayan March competition, which is as part of the International Army Games in Russia, the Ministry of Defense said.
The Russian team won the team event, with the Chinese team placed second.
In addition to Uzbekistan, teams from Iran, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and the unrecognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia took part in the competition.
Teams, overcoming a 50-kilometer route through difficult-to-reach mountainous terrain, fulfilled the standards for 12 conditions of the competition. Each participant was required not only to demonstrate mastery and skills, but also to show combat and physical training.
The winners were awarded medals and gifts of the International Army Games. On Sunday, April 17, the participants of the competitions from Uzbekistan were welcomed at the Tashkent International Airport.
