On April 22, the fifth meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will be held via videoconference call, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The foreign ministers will review the ways to maintain stability in the Central Asian region and countering the threats of terrorism and extremism and will exchange views on the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on neighboring states.

They will focus on the prospects for the sectoral expansion of the Six Format to areas of mutual interest, including transport, energy, sanitary and epidemic well-being, and national security.

At the end of March, Deputy PM/Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks in China. Then Sardor Umurzakov arrived in China instead of Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is undergoing treatment abroad.

On April 15, the eighth meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue was held via videoconference. Uzbekistan was represented at the meeting by Sardor Umurzakov.
