Another case of an attempt to send Uzbeks to the United States illegally was stopped in an operation by the Samarkand province State Security Service and Police Department, the Samarkand Province Police Department reported.
Kh.D., a resident of the Samarkand province, 40, entered into an agreement with H.Zh., resident of the United States of America, 44, and promised to send a local resident to the United States through Turkey and Latin America for US$ 40 thousand.
During the operation, Kh.D. was detained while receiving $5,000 as an advance.
A criminal case was launched against the suspects, with an investigation underway.
Earlier at the end of January, a man was detained in Samarkand, who promised to send three men to the United States via Mexico for US$ 60,000.
In December 2021, two men in Samarkand province promised two residents of Samarkand to organize their travel to the United States for $30,000 from each.
