The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov spoke to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov over the telephone on Wednesday.
According to the press service of the government of Kazakhstan, the counterparts discussed topical issues of deepening bilateral ties, including increasing the volume of the two-way trade, industrial cooperation and cooperation in the water management sector.
Alikhan Smailov noted that in the first quarter of this year, the trade turnover between the two countries surpassed US$1 billion, which is by 27% higher than the same period last year.
In addition, the parties considered the implementation of previously reached agreements, in particular, the launch of the Central Asia International Center for Industrial Cooperation.
