Photos of a gold coinwith an image of the president Shavkat Mirziyoyev surfaced on social networks. The press service of the Central Bank denied the issue of these coins.
Reportedly, the Central Bank have been issuing gold and silver coins dedicated to anniversaries, important events of historical and modern times. For example, in 2021, the Central Bank put up gold coins for sale in honor of the 580th anniversary of Alisher Navoi, the 30th anniversary of the country's independence.
“To date, the Central Bank has not issued coins or banknotes made of precious metals dedicated to the president,” the statement concluded.
