On September 27, a delegation led by the Minister for Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabiah, arrived in Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, at the Tashkent International Airport, the guests were welcomed by presidential adviser Muzaffar Komilov, chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Nuriddin domla Kholiqnazarov, chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Sodiqjon Toshboev and a group of officials.
The main purpose of this visit is reportedly to improve cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially to strengthen ties in the religious, educational, research, tourism, and transport sectors. It is also expected to consider such important issues as improving the quality of service for pilgrims going on Hajj and Umrah trips, establishing close cooperation with the country's scientific centers.
During the visit, the delegation of Saudi Arabia is scheduled to hold talks with the heads of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Religious Affairs, interested ministries and departments.
