President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences message to the U.S. President Joe Biden in connection with the numerous casualties and serious destruction after the disastrous Hurricane Ian in the southeastern states.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev conveyed words of sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as wishes for a swift recovery to the injured, president’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov said on Sunday.
At least 44 people died as a result of the hurricane that hit the southwest coast of the United States on Wednesday, this number could increase, The New York Times said. The hurricane brought widespread destruction and flooding, with more than 2.5 million people left without electricity.
The U.S. President and First Lady will visit Florida next week to review disaster relief efforts. Prior to that, they will visit Puerto Rico that was severely affected by Hurricane Fiona.
