Opening ceremony of the World Aquatics regional center took place in Tashkent’s Olympic Village during a visit by a World Swimming Federation delegation.
The delegation was led by Hussein Al-Musallam, President of World Aquatics and Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia. Paolo Zampolli, Special Envoy of the US President for Global Partnerships, and President of the Asian Paralympic Committee Majid Rashid also attended the event. In the event were also present the Member of the World Aquatics Executive Committee Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, Minister of Sport, Adham Ikramov, and the chief of the National Swimming Federation, Kudratilla Rafikov.
Guests were shown the aquatics complex, designed to host simultaneous swimming and diving training as per international standards.
