The Uzbekistan national ice hockey team has emerged victorious in Group B of the IIHF World Championship Division III. While this league ranks sixth in the international hockey hierarchy, the victory marks a significant milestone for the team.

Under the guidance of Latvian head coach Normunds Sējējs, the team displayed overwhelming dominance and a high-scoring offense throughout the tournament held in Hong Kong. Uzbekistan cruised past its opponents with a series of lopsided victories, defeating Mongolia (26:1), the Philippines (28:3), North Korea (20:3), Luxembourg (14:0), and the host nation Hong Kong (9:4).

Following this promotion, Uzbekistan will compete in Group A of Division III next season. They are set to face off against Taiwan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Thailand, Mexico, and South Africa.
